  Jerry Wayne Gray
August 30, 1943 ~ December 18, 2021 (age 78)

Died peacefully on December 18, 2021 after a prolonged illness. Jerry was born in Summertown, Tennessee, and was the eldest son of Herman (Slim) and Gladys Gray. He is survived by his wife, Lynne (nee Marlynne Anderson), two daughters, one grandson, and three brothers; he was pre-deceased by an older sister. After completing high school in Tullahoma, Tennessee, he moved to Alabama and began working as a contract computer support specialist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). He subsequently was promoted to Operating Systems Specialist and, by the time of his retirement, was a System Software Administrator for MSFC’s Cray Super Computer. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and was an avid supporter of Madison Academy football and the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC). He set a good example for his younger siblings and was described by one brother as “pretty hard to beat”.

The funeral and burial details are still being finalized but will be limited to immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
