Jerry N. Cowan passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on October 28, 2023.
He was born on June 8, 1934, in Crockett County, Tennessee, the son of the late Jack and Earlene Brown Cowan.
Throughout his life, Jerry made a significant impact on those around him. He dedicated a number of years to his career as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker at General Motors. Jerry’s craftsmanship and dedication were evident in his work, as he expertly contributed to the production of quality automobiles.
Jerry will always be remembered for his kind and soft-spoken nature. He had an unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was a family member, friend, or neighbor, Jerry could always be relied upon for support and guidance.
In his personal life, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth which will be carried on by those who survive him. He is survived by his son, Scotty Cowan of Rossville, TN; his daughter, Patsy Cowan of West Palm Beach, FL; a granddaughter, Kate Graham Ajami of Orlando, FL; and two brothers, Eugene Cowan and Duey Cowan.
To honor Jerry’s memory and celebrate his life, a visitation will be held on November 4, 2023, at Arrington Funeral Directors beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until 12:00 p.m. with a service to follow in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Ronald Brown and Rev. Donald Lance officiating.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Jerry will always be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and dedication to his craft. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
