Funeral for Jerry Michael Smith, 68, of Hillsboro will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Cramer and Eugene McNutt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith, who died Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born July 7, 1945, in Lawrence County to Riley Smith Jr. and Willa Dee Smith. He served in the U.S. Army and was a welder. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Michael Anthony Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Smith; one daughter, Stephanie Smith; one sister, Linda Stephenson (Billy); and two grandchildren, Kenzie Smith and Danna Oliver.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Hubbard, Elliott Parker, Douglas Terry, Billy Stephenson, William Stephenson, Bob Smith, Roger Dyar and Milton Letson.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
