Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Maitland, age 88, will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with bro. Brent Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 5 PM Sunday, May 5, 2024, and from 12 PM until service time Monday.
Mr. Maitland passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Maitland was a member of the Trenton Church of Christ, an electrician, owner and operator of the Peabody Place Apartments, and spent his retirement years helping others in the community.
Mr. Maitland was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Maitland; his parents, Charles James Maitland and Bertha Clark Maitland; a sister, Sarah Carter; and three brothers, William Maitland, Charlie Maitland, Jimmy Maitland, and Freddie Maitland.
Mr. Maitland is survived by three sons, Joey Maitland of Jackson, TN, Marty Maitland of Trenton, TN, and Mike Maitland of Nashville, TN; and four grandchildren, Jason Maitland, Trey Maitland, Connor Maitland, and Taylor Maitland.
Mr. Maitland’s pallbearer’s will be Trey Maitland, Connor Maitland, Jason Maitland, Taylor Maitland, Mike Clay, Ricky Jackson, Sid Phelan, Doug Poteet, Greg Maitland, and Jeff Maitland.
