Jerry Lynn Summers, 71, of Florence, died Friday May 15, 2015, at ECM Hospital following an extended illness. Visitation will be 6pm until 8pm Monday at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral will be 2pm Tuesday in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Lonald Plyler and Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Stoney Point Cemetery.
Mr. Summers was born in Decatur, a member of Underwood Heights church of Christ and retired from Tee Jays.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James Summers and Elnora Wooten; sister, JoAnn Colbert; brother-in-law, Danny Joe Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Linda Townsley Summers; son, Joel Lynn Summers; daughter, Emily Sharp (Robbie); sister, Beth Summers Wilson; grandchildren, Mollie Sharp Eddy (Evan), Maggie Maye Sharp and Donnie Lynn Summers; special nieces, Leighann Wilson Jasper (Brian) and Kelly McDougal.
Pallbearers will be Evan Eddy, Clay Frazier, Colby Wesson, Dennis Brown, Brian Jasper, Denton Chandler Derrick Taylor, and David Ezekiel. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy McDougal, Tommy Olive, Donnie Summers and Jeremiah Crapps.
