Jerry Lewis Hopkins, 78, of Boaz, AL, went to be with his Savior on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, at 5:35pm. Jerry was born to Joseph Guy Hopkins and Annie Kate Burnett Hopkins on October 22, 1945, in Draper, North Carolina. He grew up in Eden, NC and graduated from Moorehead High School. After graduation he went on to study at Piedmont Bible College. He married his childhood church camp sweetheart, Linda Rose Smithwick Hopkins, on June 28th, 1964. They had three children, twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Rose; his sister, Linda Lou Harris of Virginia; his brother, Joe Hopkins of Tennessee; his children Laurie Denise Hopkins Funderburg (husband, Marc Russell), Brian Lewis Hopkins (wife, Lisa) and Lisa Michele Hopkins Burden (husband, Wesley Todd); his grandchildren, Wesley Clay Burden (wife, Kaytlyn), Magdalene Kate Funderburg Burrage (husband, Brett), Caleb Lewis Hopkins (wife, Madison), Elnora Gray Funderburg Sweatt (husband, Logan), Elisha Joseph Burden, Emma Kate Hopkins, Marc Colton Funderburg, Christa Rose Burden Glass (husband, Adam), Abby Caroline Hopkins, William Alston Funderburg, Brian Brady Lewis Hopkins, and Faith Michele Burden; and great-grandchildren, Saylor Rose Burden, Blakely Grace Burden, and Ember Reign Burden.

He touched many lives and will remain our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held at Beulah Baptist Church in Boaz, Alabama on Sunday, September 1st at 3:00pm.
