Memorial service for Jerry D Vandiver, Jr, age 55, of Cullman, will be Sunday, November 25, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Stone Bridge Farms with Todd Henderson officiating. Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Vandiver passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at his residence after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born October 14, 1963, to Jerry and Kathleen Vandiver.
He was a 1982 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 1986 graduate of Austin Peay State University with a degree in business management. He worked for FedEx for 18 years and A&R Transport for 11 years. He was a wonderful, selfless, and happy man, who was loved by all and truly embodied a Christ-like love that he extended to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Vandiver, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Shanda Vandiver; daughters Gretchen Vandiver of Greenville, South Carolina and Halle Vandiver of Cullman; mother, Kathleen Vandiver of Athens; sister, Jennifer Moore of Athens; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who he adored.
Special thanks to all of his physicians and nurses at UAB who took excellent care of him. We would like to thank Kindred Hospice and Cecily Miner for being such a blessing to us in his final days.
