Jerry C. Kennemore was born on March 22, 1954 and departed this life on October 30, 2024. He was born to the late Edward Kennemore, Sr. and Elzoria Brown Kennemore of Huntsville, Alabama.
He was a graduate of S.R. Butler High School, Huntsville, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Vanderbilt Medical University Center.
Jerry joined The United States Army and retired after 22 years of service with an honorable discharge. After retiring from military service he was employed for many years with the U.S. Postal Service in Huntsville, Alabama. He joined the Red Cross Lodge #35, Prince Hall Grand Lodge, F. & A.M. of Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Edward Kennemore, Jr., Emmett R. Kennemore, James Willie Kennemore, and Henry C. Kennemore all of Huntsville, Alabama.
“Worm” loved to have a good time. He was a grill master who also loved to cook different types of cuisines. Gardening was another of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed entertaining and everyone was guaranteed a great time. His hospitality was second to none.
Jerry C. Kennemore leaves to cherish his loving wife, Rosa Marie Kennemore; one son, Jerry Isaiah Kennemore of Huntsville, Alabama; one granddaughter, Isis Noelle Kennemore; four brothers: William Kennemore, Albert Kennemore, Ronnie Kennemore, and Billy Kennemore all of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters: Emily Robinson and Karen Kennemore of Huntsville, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Johnny Townsend (Juanita) of Hazel Green, Alabama; four sisters-in-law: Dorothy Wilson, Ollie Mae Wellington, Pauline Parker, and Cardvie Parker all of Huntsville, Alabama and best friend, SFC Willis Jackson, and the A Company 84th Engineer Battalion, Schofield Barracks, HI; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church (6107 Blue Spring Road, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Elder Reginald Burrell officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mr. Kennemore will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
