Jerry Bennett Wyrick Profile Photo Jerry Bennett Wyrick, age 87, of Collinwood, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was born on August 10, 1937, in Bishop, VA, Jerry was the son of the late Cecil James and Ethel Elaine Scott Wyrick. He shared a beautiful marriage with Peggy Ann Jones, whom he wed on July 16, 1959, until her passing on October 17, 2021.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, embodying a spirit of dedication and honor that he carried throughout his life. For many years, Jerry held the position of industrial plant supervisor at Apcom in Franklin, TN, and later at the South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, TN.

Beyond his professional life, Jerry had a passion for the simple pleasures—fishing, bowling, traveling, and camping filled his days with joy. He especially cherished watching his grandchildren play sports, always the proud supporter, encouraging and celebrating their achievements. Most importantly, Jerry valued his family above all, dedicating countless moments to creating lasting memories with his loved ones.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Tammy Bennett (Andy) of Waynesboro, TN; sons, David Wyrick (Lasonya) of Meridan, MS, and Jerry Dale Wyrick of Collinwood, TN; sister, Marjorie Lois Wyrick Crider (Carl); brother, James “Jimmy” Darrell Wyrick; grandchildren, Kelly Minor, and Patricia Cheyanne Wyrick; great grandchild, Hayleighana Minor; and nieces and nephews, Gail Horton (Jerry), Randy Chambers (Peggy), Rusty Chambers (Jenny), and Donna Jean Askey.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Jones Wyrick; son, Gary Bent Wyrick; sister, Norma Jean Wyrick-Leach; and brother, Charles “Eddie” Edward Wyrick.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
