Mr. Jerry Armster Davis, III Jerry Armster Davis, III began his life’s journey on October 23, 1961, in Huntsville, Alabama. He was the son of the late Jerry A. Davis, Jr. and Maureen Horton Davis and the “middle child” of three children born to this union. His sister, Cynthia Lynne Davis, and brother, Reginald Cathey, Jr., preceded him in death.

Jerry received his K-12 education at Colonial Hill Elementary School, Chapman Middle School, and Lee High School. Upon completing high school, he enrolled in Alabama A&M University and completed the requirements for the BS Degree in Telecommunications.

“Buster,” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, joined Alabama A&M University Videography Staff in the Telecommunications Department. Here he filmed all the athletic and University events until his retirement. Post retirement, he worked part-time in Admissions.

He was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.

Jerry A. Davis, III crossed the great divide on Monday, April 29, 2024. He leaves to share his memory; his mother, Maureen Davis Cathey; one brother, Maurice (Denise) Davis of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Donza (Billy) Friend of Winston-Salem, NC; two nieces; two nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The memorial service for Mr. Jerry Armster Davis, III will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Lakeside United Methodist Church (3738 Meridian Street, Huntsville, AL 35811) with Reverend Dr. Randy B. Kelley officiating.

There will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church.
