Mr. Jerry Allen Nabors
December 24, 1938 – March 19, 2025
Jerry was born on December 24, 1938, in Talladega, Alabama, and spent most of his life in Guntersville. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took great pride in his family, his country, and his beloved Auburn Tigers.
Jerry graduated from Marshall County High School, Class of 1957. He attended Auburn University and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
A proud veteran, Jerry served in the United States Army, demonstrating the same dedication and strength that he carried throughout his life. After his military service, he enjoyed a long and successful career at Redstone Arsenal, where he retired as a division chief. Following his retirement, Jerry worked as a consultant for Madison Research and Intuitive Research, continuing to share his expertise and dedication with others.
Jerry was deeply committed to his community. He volunteered with the Guntersville Water Board for 40 years, serving as chairman for the majority of that time. In recognition of his exceptional leadership, the shared lobby of the Guntersville Water and Electric Board was named in his honor. Jerry was also a lifelong member of Guntersville Methodist Church and volunteered his time with the local hospice organization, providing comfort and care to those in need.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Voyle Buddy Nabors and Louise Brown Nabors. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne; his son, Jay Nabors (Renee); and his daughters, Tracy Arnold (Jason) and Kim Wideman (Henry). He was a proud grandfather to Lyndsy, Carson, Kaleigh, JT, and Jackson.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Crestview Cemetery, where Jerry will be laid to rest beside his parents.
