Jerry Allen Horn, 84, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on December 10, 2022 in Wichita, Kansas.
Jerry was born in Kilgore, Texas to William A. Horn and Wilma Florence Peacock on June 11, 1938. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M in 1960. He then went on to serve in the United States Signal Army Corp as a 1st Lieutenant in Korea. He married Linda Byrne in 1968 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He owned Skytel Aviation in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and worked as a private pilot. He worked as an electrical engineer for Texas Instruments and Intel Corporation for 20 years. He has patents for microprocessor embedded products in both point of sale terminal and intelligent beverage dispensing systems. He worked to utilize microprocessors in nuclear control stations, pacemakers, IV monitoring, blood pressure measuring systems and General Motors automation. He was an entrepreneur starting Rubicon and American Manufacturing Systems in Orlando, FL.
Jerry Horn is preceded in death by his father William Horn, sister Linda Horn Hill and mother Wilma Peacock Horn.
Jerry Horn is survived by his former wife Linda Byrne Horn, his children Doug (Kelly) Horn , Shannon (Bryan) Groves and Christin (Kortland) Fuqua, and his 11 grandchildren: Brandon Horn, Grayson Horn, Elisabeth Fuqua, Sarah Fuqua, Aidan Groves, Kaleb Fuqua, Brady Groves, Karis Fuqua, Riley Groves, Asher Fuqua and Ayslen Fuqua.
Jerry Allen Horn will be laid to rest at 2 pm on December 18, 2022 at Bennett Hollow Cemetery. Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, TN.
Pallbearers will be Kortland Fuqua, Christin Fuqua, Elisabeth Fuqua, Sarah Fuqua, Kaleb Fuqua and Karis Fuqua.
