Jerrell Wayne Tucker, age 84 of Winchester, passed away at Betty’s Place in Huntland on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He was born on August 18, 1940, in the Falls Mills, area of Franklin County, to the late David Pearson and Maggie Rilla (Shelton) Tucker. Jerrell was a member of the Brownington Church of The Nazarene and loved to fellowship with his church family. He built a career with TVA as a security officer and retired from the Nickajack Dam area in Marion County, TN. Jerrell grew up in a family as one of twelve siblings and he loved and cherished the many “Tucker Family” get togethers. He developed a love for hunting as a young man and enjoyed that hobby consistently thought out his life. Jerrell also loved to vacation with his grandchildren, when they were younger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Delpha Dale Payne Tucker; son Wade Pearson Tucker; siblings, Wanda Fielder, David Tucker, Mavis Boswell, Aline Spencer, Billy Tucker, Joyce Koski, Bob Tucker, Jewel Burt and Harold Ray Tucker. Jerrell is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Nina Tucker of Winchester; daughter, Tammy Hill (Allen) Stephens of Winchester; grandsons, Preston (Heather) Hill of Lynchburg, Judd (Mandy) Hill of Murfreesboro, and Jonny (Erin) Hill of Lynchburg; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Frank) Earls, and Gayle Miller; many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Richard Easterly. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 2:00pm from the chapel with Rev. Willie Brunosky officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
