Jerel Scot Petty was born on November 13, 1970 in Huntsville, AL and was called to rest on Monday, June 17, 2024.
Jerel accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of the St. Bethel P.B. Church. Throughout his life he exhibited a great sense of humor, enjoyed music, expressed love to others, enjoyed traveling, and loved reading/learning. He also went on to become a Certified Nurse. He is now resting in God’s care.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Shirley Pride; sons: Tony Williams, Yeltsin Scott, Jerel (Chey) Petty, Jr; daughters: Pairreonyna (Brian) Houston and Adreal Scott; sisters: Stacey Bo Scott and Tiffany (Adrian) Lacey; brothers: Charles (Mechelle) Payton, Jamil (Shana) Pride, Malcolm (Lindsey) Pride, Gamal (Linda) Pride, Hasan (Sheilah) Pride, Charles (Andrea) Edwards, Jimmy Petty, Paul Petty, Preston Petty; uncles: Flavel (Tamelar) Readus and Alphoso Readus; loving aunts: Brenda Briggs, Cindy (David) Cox, Yvonne (Keith) Taylor, and Paulette Petty; five grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Reverend Michael Mastin officiating. Interment will be in the Saint Ruth Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
