Jere Neal Wamble age 79 passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Chester County, TN July 18, 1942, son of the late Raymon and Edith Lorene Davidson Wamble. He was a graduate of Chester County High School. He joined the US Navy at age 21 and served 4 years. Upon his return to Chester County he joined the TN Army National Guard for a few years. He transferred to the TN Air National Guard out of Memphis serving full time until he retired at age 60. In addition to his military service he was a farmer, had driven a mail truck and was a self-employed truck driver.
He married Ella Mae Jones Hickman on July 20, 1989 and they made their home in Finger.
He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Sandra Maple of Finger and Patricia Treece of Humboldt, TN; sister, Mary Oliver (Danny) of Humboldt; four grandchildren, Joseph Fite (Amanda), Cody Allen Treece, Summer Nicole Maples, and Hunter Thomas Maples; and five great grandchildren, Karson Fite, Kolton Fite, Kylie Jo Fite, Mila Jane Treece, and Colton Axell Treece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Hickman, Jr.; and two brothers, Floyd Wamble and Jimmy Lee Wamble.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 25th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Nick Bradford officiating. Burial will follow at Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday.
