Obituary of Jennie Sims Amos Jennie Sims Amos, age 91, of Rainbow City, Alabama went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2023.

A visitation for Jennie will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, Alabama 35901, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steven Fraser officiating. Jennie will be laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery, Glencoe, Alabama.

Mrs. Amos was a life long resident of Etowah county. She was a charter member of Riverbend Baptist Church. For many years she had been a member of the Gadsden Senior Activity Center and the “Shindiggers” line dancing group.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Amos; parents, Monroe and Mary Sims; brothers, Jack Sims, Sam Sims and Gene Sims; sisters, Betty Holloway, Margaret Woods and Linda Sims; daughter, Doris Amos Milam.

She is survived by her son Robert L. (Christine) Amos; son-in-law, David E. Milam; grandchildren, Ryan L. Amos, Christopher W. (Sara) Holcombe, April N. (Christian) Runge, Robert Kyle (Madison) Amos, Dwight E. Milam, Dana V. (Ronnie) Crosson; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Milam, Hanna Milam, Kera Milam, Sierra (Tristan) Wiggin, Seth (Kaitlyn) Crosson, Nolen Mount, Tristan Runge and Alexandria Runge; plus several great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Choate, Tommy Hughes, Kevin Payne, Bobby Dillard, David Rowland, Tony McGlaugh, Ken Street and David Milam. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Riverbend Baptist Church Brotherhood.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Jennie’s Ladies Sunday School Class and her personal caregivers Dee Williams, Charlotte Morris, Brenda Parrish, Judy Stewart, Tiffany Teague, Drue Robertson, Stacy Thompson and Hospice nurse Cheyenne.
