Jennie Elizabeth “Polly” Farris Holden, age 74, a resident of Mount Pleasant passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 at Life Care Center of Columbia. She was born November 25, 1939 in Maury County to the late William Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Farris.
Married to the late Billy Holden Jennie was well known throughout Mt. Pleasant as Polly. She worked as a seamstress for a number of years and finally retired from Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing. Polly was a member of Church of Christ. She was a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed.
Polly is survived by her daughter: Lisa (Scott) Greene; son: Randy (Angie) Holden; grandsons: Matthew Holden, Taylor and Brian Greene; granddaughters: Elizabeth and Rebecca Holden; and sister: Annie Ruth Howard.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Howard “Doc” Farris and William “Buster” Farris.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Services will be conducted Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Bro. Hueston Marshall will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Taylor Greene, Steve Farris, Brian Greene, Ed Carpenter, William Farris, Mike Holden, and William Holden.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Former Employees of Mt. Pleasant Mfg.
