Jenette FreemanJenette C. Freeman was born in Kalispell, Montana on October 4, 1943, and died in Huntsville, Alabama, on May 30, 2023, at the age of 79.

Jenette attended Ontario, Oregon and Payette, Idaho schools and remained in the Treasure Valley until moving to Alabama in 2014.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rex Freeman, and two children: Daughter Dawna Muir (married to Robin Muir) and son Doug Freeman (married to Shannon West). Additionally, she’s survived by four grandchildren: Sara Shook (married to Jeremy Shook), Jon Muir (married to Lindsay Davis), Drew Freeman, Will Freeman and one great-grandchild, Patterson Shook.

Jenette is preceded in death by her son Toni Freeman.

Jenette’s favorite job was “being Mom” and supporting her husband and family. She was devoted to Rex and they were rarely seen apart since being married in their teens. She was Mom to her own kids, but also to many friends and family that called her house home over the years. Her filled cupcakes, monster cookies, and home-made ice cream are well known in Idaho, Texas, and Alabama. Jenette loved driving trucks, tending her rose garden, working with Rex, and enjoying her fish pond. As Rex would say, she did a lot of “man’s work” but always remained a lady. Her servant heart showed with her church work, many weeks at Camp Stover (Church of the Brethren camp), and Brethren Disaster Ministry. She was also active for many years in the Fruitland Lions Club. In her different volunteer roles, Jenette cooked delicious meals
for thousands of people

Memorial service details will be announced for Alabama in July and Idaho in October.

The family wishes memorial contributions be made to:
