Jeffry Owen Patterson, 64, of Hazel Green, Alabama passed from this life Sunday, August 16, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, L. D. Patterson. Jeff is survived by his wife, Sandy, and his daughters Samantha and Danielle who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his mother Pauline Isbell (Floyd Seals); his brothers Gary Patterson (Pat) and Phillip Patterson (Debbie); his sister Kelly Gustafson (Glenn); and four nephews Jason Patterson (Crystal), Andrew Gustafson (Brittany), Hayden Patterson and Garrett Gustafson; and great niece Madelyn Gustafson.
Jeff worked as a quality inspector for numerous government contractors over the years. He was proud to be a member of the first graduating class of Johnson High School in 1974. He went on to earn degrees from Calhoun Community College and Athens State College.
Although Jeff’s work and education were important to him, he was most proud of his family and he would do anything for them. Both of his girls played softball and he was their number one fan who was at every practice and game. He was a supporter of his daughters in everything they pursued.
Jeff found his soul mate late in life, but he and Sandy were grateful for the four years they shared together. They would have celebrated their one year wedding anniversary on August 24th.
Jeff loved to play the guitar with his brother Gary and their dad at family gatherings and he loved to sing to his girls. His faith in God was very important to him and he attended worship at many churches through the years. Jeff was an avid Alabama football fan who was always ready to talk to someone about his team. He loved to take naps with his dog, Oreo, and to watch the History Channel.
Jeff’s life was way too short for those who are left behind, but he lived a full life and always made sure his family knew they were loved. He will be greatly missed, but his memories will love on and will bring comfort and joy to his family always.
