Jeffrey “Big Chub” Hickerson

Mr. Jeffrey “Big Chub” Hickerson was born in Winedot, MI on October 06, 1963, to the late W.C. Hickerson and Marcella Keeton Hickerson. Jeff was a Wayne County High graduate Class of 1981 and would later be united in marriage to Ms. Nell Hickerson on March 25, 1989. The two would make Waynesboro their forever home, blending the two families together forever cementing their families and lives together. He held his love for God and family very close to his heart. He was a very diligent member of the Shepards Chapel Televised Church out of Gravette, AR and supported the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, however nothing compared to the time he would spend with his family and friends.  Jeff especially adored playing with his great-grandchildren and his dog “Knot Head”. He worked for 14 years for  Wayne County Rock in Waynesboro, TN, driving a truck  enjoying  the time he spent  with whom he worked and considered  family. In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors as he was an avid hunter. Mr. Jeff Hickerson passed away from this life in Waynesboro, TN on September 03, 2024, at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 28 days.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years Ms.  Nell Hickerson; daughters Martha Ann Hammack and Pam Melson husband James all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren Lisa Odell and husband Matt of Waynesboro, TN ,Shania Harris and wife Elisabeth of Clifton, TN, Jessie Melson of Waynesboro, TN and Amanda Hammack and fiancé Corey of South Carolina; great-grandchildren Maci Melson, Rylan Odell, Serenity Odell all of Waynesboro, TN, Leilani Harris of Clifton, TN, Harlee Daniel, Weston Daniel and Layla May Boyter all of South Carolina; sister Debbie Johnson and husband W.G. of Hendersonville; life long adopted brother Jeff Bates; nephew Jeremy Devers of Waynesboro, TN and adopted family Schyler Daniel of Collinwood, TN; and extended family all his coworkers of Wayne County Rock

Memorial services will be held September 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel with Jason Love officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held September 14, 2024, from 12:00 noon till 2;00 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be given to the St. Jude’s

Children’s Hospital.
