Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 9, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jimmy Peyton officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the church.

Jeff was born on August 24, 1973 in Columbia, TN to Shirley Glyn Martin Johnson and the late Willard McDowell Johnson, Jr. He attended Baker Elementary, Whitthorne Middle School and Central High School and graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Wildlife Management and received a Bachelor of Science degree. Jeff began working at the SWARCO Quality Control Bead Plant in 2002 and was promoted to plant supervisor in July 2004 and became plant manager in 2006 until May 2022. He was a long time member of the Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He loved being with his son Jake, especially on adventures of camping, hiking, teaching him skills, and taking him on a train ride. He loved attending Crystal Springs Church Camp, always wanting to go back again. He was at home around horses, enjoyed riding and attending horse shows with his grandparents when he was younger. He was still wanting to own another horse. Camping with his buddies was always an enjoyment. He went on many trips associated with his college degree, never being afraid of an adventure. The Appalachian Trail was always a memorable event. Jeff also enjoyed running marathons. He traveled a great deal, a highlight of his traveling was to Austria through his work.

Survivors include his son, Jake Johnson (his mother Lara Johnson) of Columbia; mother, Shirley Martin Johnson of Columbia; sisters, Tammy Greksa (Gary) of Columbia and Katherine Burleson (Adam) of Summertown; maternal grandmother, Hazel Willoughby Martin of Columbia; aunts, Kathie Martin, Beverly Green (Wayne), Darlene Fisher; nieces and nephews, Cole Cheek, Paige Janowicz (Nick), Lincoln Burleson, and Amelia Burleson; great niece and nephew, Charlotte Janowicz and Henry Janowicz; special friend, Elizabeth Campbell; cousins, Josh Martin (Mallory), Joanna Loyed (Micah), Ronnie Weaver, Karen Lane (John), and Jennifer King (Jonathan).

He was preceded in death by his father, Willard McDowell Johnson Jr.; maternal grandfather, Roy Gene Martin; paternal grandparents, Willard McDowell Johnson Sr. and Dorothy Norman Johnson; uncles, Ricky Martin, Bobby Johnson, Charles Johnson, JM Johnson, Cleophus Johnson, and Dewey Johnson; cousin, Tracey Wilkinson.

Pallbearers will be Gary Greksa, Cole Cheek, Nick Janowicz, Adam Burleson, Lincoln Burleson, Josh Martin, Micah Loyed, Bradley McNeese, and Craig Mullins.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, former classmates, ball teams, and co workers.
