Jeff Jennings-Alabama Native Brings 20 Years of Community Hospital Leadership to New Role

has been named Chief Executive Officer at Shoals Hospital. Mr. Jennings most recently served as CEO of Hillside Hospital in Pulaski, TN. His first day at Shoals will be Monday, March 3.
According to Shoals Hospital Board Chairman Tyndal Davis, “We are very excited to have Jeff join Shoals Hospital and our great community. He brings more than 20 years of hospital executive experience to this position and has had tremendous success throughout his career in the areas of patient and employee satisfaction, physician recruiting, and physician satisfaction. He has led hospitals in communities much like Muscle Shoals for much of his career, and we believe this experience will serve him well as he leads Shoals Hospital.”
Mr. Jennings says, “My wife Lynne and I are thrilled to get home to Alabama. I grew up in Anniston, and went to college nearby, so we are very excited to be able to raise our twin eighth-grade sons Tanner and Tucker near many of their relatives.”
Mr. Jennings adds, “It is clear from their recent growth, Shoals Hospital is meeting the needs of the community. I look forward to working with the outstanding medical staff as, together, we chart the best course for the delivery of quality care in the Shoals. I believe it is our responsibility, as a community hospital, to offer the services and resources patients and their families need so that they do not need to leave town for care.”
Mr. Jennings has served in senior leadership positions at hospitals in Tennessee, Texas, Georgia and Arkansas. While under his leadership, hospitals have scored at the 95th percentile or better, as measured by Press Ganey, in patient satisfaction, and the 99th percentile in employee satisfaction. His hospitals have been named to such prestigious lists as “Modern Healthcare’s Top 100 Employers,” “Healthgrade’s Top 100 Orthopedic Hospitals,” and “Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence.”
Mr. Jennings received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL, and his Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Birmingham.

About Shoals Hospital: Shoals Hospital was founded in 1968 by a group of physicians dedicated to serving residents of Colbert County. Today, the 178-bed, general acute care facility boasts spacious, private rooms for all patients as well as a 24-hour emergency department; medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and an intensive care and short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W.
