Jeannine Goode, affectionately known as “Nennie” to close friends and family, and “Gigi” to her precious great-grands, died on October 24, 2024.

Friends and family will be received from 12p.m. to 2p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Elkins Funeral Home in Florence. A graveside service will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens at 2:30.

Mrs. Goode was a graduate of Coffee High School, attended Florence State College (now UNA), and along with her husband Bill, was a charter member of the First United Methodist Church in Muscle Shoals. She loved all genres of music, especially the Big Band sounds, as well as ballroom dancing. She and Bill spent many pleasurable hours with friends as part of Circle 8 and various other ballroom dance organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her brother, Rolland Boyd (Sue); sister, JoAnne Creekmore (Malcolm); and family pet, Theodore.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Phil) of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Brad Ellis (Brittany), and Mellissa Ellis Frisland (Bric); and great-grandchildren, Rown and Elizabeth Ellis and Arlo and Ava Friesland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to HASRA (Heart of Alabama Save and Rescue Animals) c/o 306 Knights Bridge Road, Florence, Al 35630.

Special thanks to caregivers Kathy Wright and Sheila Blackstock, as well as the entire staff of Lauderdale Christian Care Center.
