Mrs. Jeanne Gibbons Blackmon, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Folsom Center. She was born August 22, 1932, in Chilton County, to Rushon Day Gibbons and Eila Alice Scott Gibbons.

She was a graduate of Falkville High School, The Newspaper Institute of America, in New York, and Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama. She was a champion cook, having won over 100 cooking awards. She was retired from the Hartselle Enquirer, where she wrote the Falkville News for over 62 years.

Mrs. Blackmon was a charter member of the Morgan County Herb Society and the Hartselle Senior Circle. She was also a member of the Hartselle Business and Professional Women’s Club.

Preceding her in death were her husband; Noel L. Blackmon, her parents, a brother; Jimmie R. Gibbons, and a sister; Mabel Dunagan.

A “Special Thanks” is expressed to the Folsom Center and Southern Care – New Beacon Hospice, as well as, Dean Nelson, Darleen McCormick, Linda Nash, Tara Cross, and Bob and Patricia Ramey for their loving care and Jeanne over the years.

Survivors include

Niece – Lisa Di Orio (Larry), Gallatin , TN
Great Niece – Tiffany Speer (Patrick), Franklin , TN

Jeanne’s ashes will be sprinkled on her parents and brothers’ graves at her request.
