Jeanette Tiller Holladay, 86, died on Monday, January 2 in Birmingham, AL surrounded by family. She recently resided at Danberry at Inverness Independent Living. Prior to that she made Florence, AL her home for over 50 years. Jeanette was born in Dothan, AL and graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, AL in 1954 and Auburn University in 1958.
Jeanette was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed traveling around the world with her family and friends. She was a Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League and loved playing any type of card game! She was also a longtime member of the Florence Garden Club. Jeanette was a good friend to all and will be remembered for her kind heart and caring spirit. She was a wonderful mom to her three children, and a fun loving grandmother to six grandchildren.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dr. James R. Holladay.
She is survived by her children, Lee Holladay, Susie Holladay Lyons, and Leslie Holladay Dunlap (D.R.) and grandchildren, Spencer Holladay, Ethan Holladay, Daniel Lyons, Mary Kate Lyons, Allison Dunlap, and Sarah Dunlap.
A celebration will be held on February 5 at Turtle Point Country Club from 3-5 to remember and celebrate Jeanette and her husband Jim, who died during the 2020 Covid Shutdown.
