Jeanette May Howell, of Fayetteville, TN entered the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on February 13th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Annette May, her Mama & Daddy, Cassie & Gilbert Fuller, her sister Wilma Lee Ables, and her beloved nephew, Tommy Ables.
She was survived by her 2 loving daughters, Sunshine Hale of Hazel Green Al, and Rainy and Cliff Stubblefield of Fayetteville, TN, seven Grandchildren, Emilee and Husband Brandon Kamil of Springfield, Illinois, Charlie Stubblefield and girlfriend Brylea Pruett, Samuel Hale, Cooper Stubblefield, Jacob Hale, Max and Miles Stubblefield, and Sister Etta Colf of Michigan and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Howell’s childhood years were spent on her parents farm in Howell Hill , then later at the families convenience store, where she often recalled riding her tricycle through the aisles and snacking on her favorite candy, bit o honey.

Her teenage years were spent laughing building lifelong bonds with her friends and at the local skating rink. She developed a strong relationship with God and cultivated her faith through attending church and joining the Church of Christ.

Approaching adulthood, she entered the work force and worked various jobs at Scoville, Marvin’s grocery, and at Howell Wood Specialties. She then married and became a mother to Sunshine and Rainy. She spent many years teaching Sunday School and helping to spread God’s Word to the youth in the community.
She worked at Flowers and More as a florist and interior designer, then later at Ables Greenhouse.
Her artistic nature bloomed during this time as well, as she often enjoyed sewing clothes for her daughters and painting various items for friends and family. She took on the huge task of hand sewing 13 puppets and lead the production of a puppet show that packed the Howell Hill Church of Christ for the first time in years.
Continuing to pursue her dreams, she took flight lessons to become an ultralight pilot and acquired her private investigator certification. She took on the role of Shepard to a flock of sheep on the farm and honed her skills to nurture the sickest and most fragile animals back to health.

She joined the City Of Fayetteville Police Department Reserve, then later transferred to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse  where she spent several years volunteering, patrolling, and working various events around the county.
If you saw her in town during this time, she would be in her red mustang she called the red rocket and would have on her bright red lipstick, flashy jewelry and a giant purse on her shoulder that kept her prepared for any situation that may call for a tool kit, various candy, her heavy key chain, and an xl can of wasp spray she used for self-defense, because it was ‘cheaper than pepper spray and could shoot 22 feet’, and maybe she’d have an ink pen in there, too..
You’d would often find her with either of her sisters, sharing a Kens slaw burger, a dr pepper and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Over the next 12 years, life continued to blossom and she was blessed with 7 Grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to be involved in their lives and spent countless hours supporting them as they grew, cheering them on at their ballgames, and loved having them all come to play at her house on the weekends. Of all her roles in life, she was most proud to be called Mom, Moppy, and Maw.

As her memories began to fade, her smile remained bright as she continued through her journey of life. She kept her sense of humor and her ability to make any situation a fun one with her remarks, as well her appreciation for an ice cold dr pepper and a sweet treat. She always remembered Sunshine, Rainy, Cliff, Emme, Charlie, Samuel, Cooper, Jake, and Max and Miles. And most importantly, she never once forgot about Jesus and her faith in God.

Those who loved her know what a light she was in this world and although she has passed on, we know she is shining bright in heaven. Her crown there must be so full of jewels from all the good she did here on earth and all the joy and love she spread while caring for and others.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday February 22, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Following the visitation there will be a Celebration of Life held beginning at 3:00.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
