Jean White Lake, age 88, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

Jean grew up in Vicksburg, MS and graduated from Carr Central High School. She graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a degree in Elementary Education and later received a master’s degree from the University of Alabama Huntsville. Jean was a special education teacher at Blossomwood Elementary School for more than 25 years.

Jean was a dedicated community leader. She was a certified Master Gardener and in 2017 was awarded the Alabama Project of the Year for horticultural therapy. Jean was also involved in Learning Quest, ADK Teachers’ Sorority, a Book Club, and The Piedmont Garden Club. Jean is most remembered, however, for her spectacular family Christmas celebrations which lasted for several days!

Jean was a beloved partner to Felix Meyer, an amazing mom to Elizabeth Conroy (Bob) and Emily Clark (Dallas), and an energetic grandmother to Dylan and Annie Clark, Abigail, Amelia, Owen and Olivia Conroy and Catherine Meyer.

Visitation and a Celebration of Life will be held at Jean’s home at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 4th. There will be a private burial.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
