Jean SpeakeFuneral services for Mrs. Jean Speake, age 73 of Ashland, will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Jimmy Brand officiating. Burial will follow at Lystra Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Speake passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at her home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, she worked at Wellborn Cabinets for 32 years and worked at Pizza Shack delivering pizza’s for several years. A momma to many, Mrs. Speake loved her grandchildren and always wanted the best for her kids. She was a good cook that loved the Lord, His word and attending church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her four children: Deborah Adamson and Norma Prather, both of Ashland, Linda Watts (Matthew) of Wadley and Donald “Tiger” Strickland (Samantha) of Lakeland, FL, nine grandchildren: Roy, Jr., Brandon, Amanda (David), Billy (Dana), Matthew (Kacy), Jessica (Stephen), Kiley, Haley and Alley, 13 great-grandchildren, her brother, Jimmy Dewberry of Ranburn, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wince and Ruth Dewberry, and three brothers: Garvis, Wince, Jr. and Billy Dewberry.

Pallbearers will be: Roy Acuff, Jr., Brandon Acuff, Matthew Jones, Matthew Watts, Billy Browning and Stephen Denson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and up until service time on Tuesday.

Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.
