Mrs. Jean Rowland, age 90 of Bolivar, Tennessee, passed from this life Friday morning, June 3, 2016 in Bartlett, Tennessee.
She was born in Union, MS to the late Chester and Myra Kimball Pace. She lived most all of her life in Hardeman County.
On December 4, 1943, she was united in marriage to Travis Haden Rowland. Mr. Rowland died November 11, 1974. Together, they had been owners/operators of Rowland’s grocery and Mrs. Rowland retired from Dover Elevators after 30 years of service. She was a member of Middleton First Baptist Church and had been active in the WMU. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and loved to work outside.
Her surviving family members are a daughter, Brenda (Fred) May of Bartlett; a son, Mike (Betty) Rowland of Jackson; three grandchildren, Chad (Christy) Rowland, Kelly (Eric) Sanders and Casey (Rebecca) Hardin; and five great-grandchildren, Brock and Madison Rowland, Katie and Seth Bishop and Seth Hardin.
Memorials may be sent to the Middleton First Baptist Church.
