Jean Miree Yuille, 86, of Florence, Alabama, born April 26, 2014 in Birmingham, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 in Florence.
Jean was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as playing bridge and entertaining her pride and joy, grand and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Northwood Methodist Church and an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. She loved cooking for others, delivering meals-on-wheels, and participating in her Joy and Keenage clubs.
Early in her career, Jean became one of the few Certified General Motors accountants of the Chevrolet Motor division serving several dealerships. Then, for 20 years, she was the accountant for Fountain Lanes Bowling Center. Afterwards, she became an office manager for ANCO Corporation then retired as office manager of Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club. She was a member of Florence Golf Country Club as well as Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Yuille Jr., daughter, Cynthia (Cyndi) Yuille Hammond, father, A.R. Miree Sr., mother, Grace Miree Rosenberg, and sister, Frances B. McCarty.
She is survived by her son, William Lewis “Bill” Yuille III (Vicki); son-in-law, Harold Hammond, of Florence; brother, A.R. Miree (Dorothy), of Huntsville; grandsons, William Lewis Yuille IV (Angela), of Muscle Shoals, and William Todd Yuille (Elizabeth), of Kosciusko, Mississippi; great-grandsons, William Walker Yuille and Nolen Brock Yuille, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, and William Joseph Yuille, of Muscle Shoals; and dear friend and bridge partner, Jane Sledge.
The family would like to thank Dr. Felix Morris, Dr. Robert Webb, all those on the sixth floor of ECM, as well as the nurses and staff of Dr. Antony Kalliath and Dr. Danny Martin’s offices for their care and support.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenview Memorial Chapel followed by a memorial service shared by Reverend Scott Coats and Brother Jerry Rea.
Pallbearers will be Flynt Danley, Jerry Danley, Ken McLain, Darrell Todd, Bill Brown, and Steven Beaman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwood Methodist Church or Woodmont Baptist Church.
