Mrs. Jean MeadowsMrs. Jean Meadows, age 93, passed away late Sunday in Lexington. She was born October 31, 1930 in Henderson County to the late J. D. and Odie McClanahan Smith. She had a true passion for being a beautician and owned and operated Lexington Styling Center for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington and loved her church family and helping people. She loved her family dearly and also enjoyed painting. In her later years, you could always count on her for a good long phone conversation, a good homeopathic cure for whatever ailed you, or some good advice, whether you wanted it or not.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Lee Meadows; one son, Tony Meadows; two brothers, Frank and Joe Smith; and two sisters, Lois Rogers and Ilene Hays.
She is survived by one son, Terry Meadows; her daughter, Pam Myracle (Barney); daughter-in-law, Diana Meadows; four grandchildren, Bryan Meadows (Heather), Brad Myracle (Holly), Jeanna Cocke (Travis), and Christy Martin (Corey); seven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Braden, Cade, Savanna, Skylar, Reese, and Emily; a special niece, Sandra Carey (Burton); and many other nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 PM, Sunday, July 21, 2024 at New Hope Methodist Cemetery near Lexington. The family will receive friends at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington on Sunday from 12 PM – 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to First Baptist Church Mission Fund or the MAC Center.
