A Celebration of Life for Jean Mayfield Vest, 83, will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Mayfield and Rev. Roger Vest officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Oden Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vest died on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born June 8, 1933, in Morgan County to Johnny K. Mayfield and Dewey Hazel Harvell Mayfield. She was a longtime and devoted member of Westside Baptist Church, where she was every child’s favorite Sunday School Teacher. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Vest was the image of true love, by her actions and words, and was a shining light to her family, friends and her community, never ceasing to pray for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James Edward Vest, her parents, two brothers: Rev. Bud Mayfield and Jimmy Mayfield and a grandson: Craig Vest.

Carea, Chris, Kimberly, Jacob, Jennifer Todd, Shane, Misty and Jerry.
Thirteen Great Grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Chris Vest, Jacob Moses, Todd Vest, Jeff Adkins, Keith Wallace, and Brad Mayfield.
