Obituary of Jean Marie AndersonJean Marie Anderson, 78, of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at home. Family will receive friends Monday, November 25, 2019, from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Robin Hinkle will officiate. Jean was born April 7, 1941, in Westboro, Wisconsin, to Lester and Lorraine Peterson. She graduated from Westboro High School in 1959. Jean and her twin sister Joan moved to Chicago. She married Charles Anderson and they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she worked for the Cincinnati Enquirer. After her divorce, Jean moved back to Westboro where she worked at Tombstone Pizza and the Star News. In 1998, she moved to Jasper, Alabama. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for 43 years and a member of the First Lutheran Church in Westboro and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Jasper. Jean helped raise her grandchildren Kennen and Kendra as well as work in her daughter’s store, Handley’s Western Wear. They took many trips to Westboro to visit relatives. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing pinochle games. She embroidered and quilted many beautiful baby quilts. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband as well as her sister Carol and her brother Thomas. She is survived by her son, Charles Anderson; daughter, Deborah (Mike) Tittle of Jasper, AL.; sisters, Doredda (Leroy) Odom of Chelsea, WI., Joan (Roy) Plemmons of Cumming, GA, Myrtha Justice, Mary (Greg) Wagenknecht, Candy (Dan) Zutavern; brothers, Edward (Joyce) Peterson of Westboro and Richard Peterson of Omega, WI.; grandchildren, Julie Dennis, Kendra (Trey) Burg, and Kennen Kimbrell; great grandchildren, Arianna of Indiana and J.C. Burg of Jasper as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made to First Lutheran Church of Westboro and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Jasper.
