Shelby "Jean" Houp  Jean Houp, age 87 of Springfield, formerly of Naples, FL passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Hendersonville Medical Center. She was born April 25, 1936 in Wilmore, KY to Harold Lee & Addie B. Estes Anderson. She worked as a cook for the Collier County Florida Schools before her retirement. She was a member of East Naples Baptist Church but had been attending Grace Free Will Baptist Church since moving to Tennessee to live with her daughter. Jean enjoyed playing cards and fishing. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Henry Houp; stillborn son, William Wayne Houp; 3 sisters, Hazel, Donnie and Dorothy. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn Duncan and Louise Houp, both of Springfield, TN and Della Ann Weeks, Naples, FL; son, Gary (Angie) Houp; brother, Pete Anderson, both of Naples, FL; a nephew that she thought of as a son, Ronald Estes, Naples, FL; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. a host of nieces and nephews. Per Jean’s request, there will be no memorial service. A private family visitation is being held and her ashes will be interred with her husband’s ashes in Naples, FL.
