Jean Faye (McAnally) Foster passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2023 following a long-time illness that she bore with grace and dignity, as she lived her life.
Jean was the loving wife of Jasper S. Foster, Jr. and mother to Stan Foster, who both predeceased her passing. She is survived by children Kenneth Foster of Arlington, Tennessee and Melissa Foster of Franklin, Tennessee, daughter-in-law Jeanine Foster and grandson Peyton Foster.
Born to Evelyn and Paul McAnally on October 1, 1929, in Maury County, Tennessee, Jean was predeceased by her brothers Dr. Rudy McAnally and Dr. James McAnally. Jean lived in Maury County her entire life, except for a brief time in Oak Ridge, Tennessee during World War II and in England in the 1980swhen Jasper’s work at Union Carbide took them overseas.
Jean was a longtime resident of the Zion community and a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Married 70 years when Jasper passed away, Jean and Jasper traveled widely and together cared for their farm and family.
Jean was known for her love and knowledge of gardening, antiques, and needlework. She will be deeply missed by her extended family, including her sisters-in-laws Dr. Kathy (Rudy) McAnally and Mary (James) McAnally and nieces and nephews who have many fond memories of family gatherings and holidays at her home.
The family wishes to thank all the CNA’s and home healthcare workers who provided care to Jean. A special recognition to Darlene Marks, Jessica Hargrove, Jenna Foster, Susan Greene, and Chelsea Daniels for their loving commitment to Jean’s care. In addition, special thanks to Dr. Gibbron Naddy and Kelvin Mayberry.
A graveside service is planned for Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Bro. Bob Vassar officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jean’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
