Jean Ellen Dill Pride, age 87, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016. Her family will receive friends today, 12:30-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens with Bill Bedsole officiating. Jean lived most of her life in Sheffield and Nashville, Tennessee and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a certified nursing assistant. She loved to dance and began lessons at the age of five and at 82 she would get out of her wheel chair and dance. She was a wonderful mother and caring friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Katherine Dill; son, Hugh W. Pride III; and the father of her children, Hugh W. Pride Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Jean Pride (Pam Orren), of Vashon, Washington; brother, David Dill (Rosemarie Renate), of Santa Barbra, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers are Jim Pride, Terrell Benton, and family friends.
The family expresses special thanks to Christina, Kathleen, Niki, and Lacresha of Nashville and Amanda, Daniel and Gabby of Vashon, Washington.
