Jean D. Martin, 78, of Cumming, GA died Sunday March 8, in Cumming. Visitation will begin at 1pm on Wednesday at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 2pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Martin was born in Hodges, AL to the late Dan W. Davis and Reba Akin Davis. She was a graduate of Coffee High School and Florence State University and a member of Highland Baptist Church. Her family owned the Norwood and Joy-Lan Theaters and she worked for them in her early years. Mrs. Martin was the former owner of WABT Radio Station in Tuskegee and it was there that she met her husband. They moved to Florence and here they were the former owners of Northwood Building, Inc., M & S Mini Storage and partners in Hermitage Oaks, Hermitage Place and Hermitage Knoll apartment complexes.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Martin; son, Mat Davis (Tammy), Johns Creek, GA; brother, Darwin Davis, Destin, FL; grandchildren, Asia Mitchell and Joshua Davis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
