Jean Ann Overton, age 84 of Double Springs, passed away April 23, 2024.
She was born on October 6, 1939 in Deptford, London England to John Alfred Webb and Ellen Price. Jean had a passion for collecting antiques and she left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her sons who have absolutely no idea what to do with it. She was world-renowned for not holding back her opinion and telling it like it is. Jean always had an idea of what you should do even if you didn’t want to hear it. She was an avid reader and encouraged others to read and learn. Jean was the Double Springs librarian for many years. Jean met James “Jimmy” Overton in England and they married and travelled the world, living in England, Bermuda, and several states including New York, Oklahoma, and California. She had three children, five grandchildren, and she loved her role of being “Mum” and “Nana”.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service at a later date.
Jean was survived by her children, Bradley (Nancy), Stephen (Kendra); grandchildren, James (Laura-Read), Anastasia, Griffin, Sydney, and Jacob; brother, Stephen Webb; and a host of nieces and nephews.
