JE Barringer, 84, of Rogersville died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at ECM Hospital.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Brother David Lash officiating. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery.
JE was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Martha Lane Gargis Barringer; son, Robert Barringer; parents, Jim and Guyula Barringer; brother, Ernest Barringer; and sister, Pruda Thornton and husband, Tonis.
Mr. Barringer is survived by his wife, Jorda Marie Miller Barringer; daughter, Teresa Staffe (Klaus); five sons, Gary Barringer (Janice), Jerry Barringer (Shana), Jimmy Barringer (Peggy), Anthony Barringer (Trudy) and Greg Barringer (Cynthia); brother, GE Barringer (Doris); 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
JE attended Elgin School and retired from TVA as a crane operator. He was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed commercial fishing, gardening and walking with his twin brother, GE.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
