JB Durham Jr. (89) passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He entered heaven with many earthly titles: husband, Daddy, Pawpaw, brother, and friend. Born on July 12,1934, to Bertha and Bent Durham, JB was 1 of 7 children. He married Marie (Morring) on June 29th, 1962. They have resided on Copeland Rd. in Athens for 50 years where they raised their daughter Renee and continued to build memories with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. JB, a retired painter and veteran, epitomized hard work, kindness, and love. He was a simple man who enjoyed his Westerns, Little Debbies, and Pepsi. Weather permitting, you could find JB outside on the lawn mower, tractor or on his front porch swing.
JB is preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters. He is survived and missed by his loving wife Marie (Morring) Durham, daughter Renee (Freddy) Wright, grandchildren Rebecca (Ray) Wooten, and their 4 children Dixie, Hartley, Rory and Aubrey; Reed (Amber) Reynolds and their 2 children Kennedy and Rush and a brother Calvin (Paulette) Durham and sister Lynda Nash.
Per his wishes, there will not be a funeral service. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Hospice of Limestone County
