Jay Patrick Pridmore, 42, of Dora, Alabama, passed away on March 31, 2023.
He is a Graduate of Corner High School and also a Graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Jay was a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp from 2002-2011 He served two tours in Iraq, the first deployment to Camp Alquim, Iraq in 2004 and the second to Camp Fallujah, Iraq in 2006. For Jay’s exemplary service, he was awarded the following; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/Combat “V”, Combat Action Ribbon (Iraq), Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon w/ 2 bronze stars, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, w/ 1 bronze campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Medal (Iraq), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Iraq), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/ 1 bronze star, Rifle Expert Badge (3rd Award), and the Meritorious Mast (2). He was a member of North Gardendale Baptist Church; he more recently visited High Point Community Church. He was a member of Flint Hill Lodge #810 F&AM.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Arnold and Lucy Payne and Thomas Pridmore and his uncle, Ronald Ware.
He is survived by his parents, Randall and Lois Pridmore; brother, Jonathan Glover (Kelly) and Derik Pridmore; nieces and nephew, Ethan Glover (Samantha) and Grayson and Abigail Glover.
Jay had two passions in his life, physical fitness and studying the word of God. Jay’s spiritual gifts included great faith, confidence, strength in prayer and abounding love. He constantly spoke encouragement to strangers, friends and family throughout his life. His own one sentence summary of life would be: “Jesus IS the meaning of life”.
