JASPER-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident that occurred on December 21 has taken the life of a Jasper teen:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. Saturday, December 21, has claimed the life of a Jasper teen.
The 18-year-old was critically injured when the 2011 Nissan Sentra that the teen was driving struck a pothole. After the initial impact, the Nissan left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge rail. The juvenile was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
On Sunday, December 22, the teen succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital.
The crash occurred on Whitehouse Road near Industrial Parkway, approximately one mile south of Jasper, in Walker County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
