It is with great sadness that the family of Jason Nicorvo shares that Jason passed away 5 June 2024 in Huntsville Alabama from terminal cancer at the age of 47. Jason is survived by his father Richard Nicorvo of Franklin, TN; sister Meghan Peters of Atlanta, GA; and loving partner Alisha Jill Otinger of Henagar, AL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Nicorvo; grandparents, Edwin and Louise Nicorvo; James Morgan Minter, Liz Minter, Rusty Minter, and Ann Minter.
The joy that became Jason was born 3 September 1976 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The family relocated to Franklin, Tennessee when Jason was just over four years old – and one of his first memories of Tennessee was witnessing his first snowfall. He was in awe of how those tiny, handheld melting flakes could possibly pile up to a foot of snow. And that curiosity led to a lifetime of interest in the sciences. Jason so appreciated documentaries, fueled by his insatiable desire to understand why things happened the way they did. Growing up, he was a challenging tennis player and earned his Black Belt in Karate, where he was a strong competitor.
He graduated with National Honors from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin Tennessee in 1994. He went on to attend the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He loved Alabama and enjoyed sharing many football games with his fraternity brothers.
After college, Jason returned to Franklin. He held several roles as well as the position of Sales Director at the Work Institute, LLC and National Sales at Aladdin Temp-Rite. He enjoyed running and working out – and even tried his hand at raising Bonsais.
Jason ultimately returned to Alabama and lived in Henagar, where he met his girlfriend, now of ten years, Alisha Jill. He recently enjoyed a family trip where he enjoyed the tunes of Bob Marley against the backdrop of crashing waves in Jamaica. Jason was currently in a Bible Study Group, enjoyed quiet roadside walks, and loved to lie under the night sky watching meteors with Maw Maw, his tiger cat.
Jason worked at Haymon Homes for the past several years, which provides a family environment for individuals with intellectual and mental disabilities. He loved taking care of and supporting his group of clients. He recently had several Baptized at Rainsville First Baptist Church, where Jason attended and was greatly encouraged. Donations can be made to his church, and you can contact them at 256.638.3141or rainsvillefirst.com. Jason had an incredibly warm heart, and his last wish was to be an organ donor to save other lives.
There will be a friend and family visitation at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, 15 June from 1 to 4PM. Funeral Director, Jim Taylor, will give a few words of Blessing at 2pm.
