JARVIS DEXTER JOHNSON, 66, of Florence, Alabama transitioned to his eternal home on March 9, 2025. He was born to Roosevelt and Annie Ruth Williams Johnson in Florence on November 21, 1958. Jarvis started his walk with the Lord at an early age. He attended Weeden Elementary and Coffee High School. He then went on to marry the love of his life, Pantz Bates. Over the years, friends and family commented on Jarvis’ uncanny ability to make you think that The University of Alabama sports was always #1. He lived a life of simplicity – finding joy in the little things and valuing the precious moments spent with family and at family events. He loved his family and adored his “faves”, Dorcas D. and Melynde. Jarvis, his brother Robert and cousin Marcia found delight in their most recent conversation, sitting and talking about Jarvis’ relationship with Jesus Christ – not knowing that conversation would be his last. Jarvis leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will ALWAYS live through those that loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt & Annie Ruth Johnson; his wife, Pantz Bates; his son Jermaine Edwards and brother, Byron Ingram.
