Funeral services for Jannie Smith Pannell, 77 of Walnut, MS are set for Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2 pm at Emmanuel Holiness Church with interment to follow in the family cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5pm – 9pm and Friday, October 11, 2024 from 12 pm until service time at Emmanual Holiness Church. Rev. Jeff Harp, Rev. Doc Shelton, and Rev. Tim Hall will officiate the service. Pallbearers include Stanley Jeanes, Dillon Haygood, Brodie Haygood, Richard Wilbanks, Dewayne Gay, and Josh Leon. Honorary pallbearers include Bud Wilbanks, Daniel Hicks, Matthew Pannell, Joe Gouch, and Roger Jones. Born on September 15, 1947 in Corinth, MS, Jannie passed from this life on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was of the Pentecostal faith being a member of Emmanuel Holiness and worked as a CNA. She loved spending time fishing, gardening, camping, traveling, cooking and canning but especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Jannie is survived by her husband of 24 years, Wayne Pannell; her daughter, Jolene Haygood; her stepson, Matthew Pannell; her grandchildren, Christina Jeanes (Stanley), Dillon Haygood, Daylee Haygood, and Brodie Haygood; her great grandchildren, Gunner Haygood and Kyler Hicks; her sister, Shirlene Collier (Ralph), other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Butler; and by her parents, Roy and Daisy Prince. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Jannie Smith Pannell.
