Jannie Mae Chance, 82 of Burnwell, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2023.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Some of the joys of her life were cooking, reading and reading cookbooks (she loved recipes). She loved gospel music. The greatest love of her life however was her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Sumner; her son, John Chance; her grandson, Richard Chance and her siblings, Nellie Dean Stephens, Eveleen Henderson, Margerine Goodwin, Kathleen Green and Elgar, Luda, J. W. and Eugene Sumner.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charles Chance; her son, Ricky Chance and wife Lisa; brother, Herman Sumner and wife Alice; grandchildren, Kyle Chance (Kaila) and Halli Tucker (Colby); great grandchildren, Brayden, Jace and Owen Chance and Weston, Caroline and Elleigh Tucker; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday Jan. 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev, Ray Jackson and Rev. James Aycox will officiate. Burial will follow at Brasfield Cemetery in Burnwell. Visitation is Friday 12:30-2 pm.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Chance, Shane Parrish, Marlon Vines, Chris Edwards, Don Barron and Jace Chance.
