Janis Duane Stegg

Janis Duane Stegg was born in Detroit, MI on October 7, 1944 to Robert John Stegg and Delores Dahl Stegg.  Jan was the oldest of seven children including; Shelley,Robin, Shawn, Shannon, Hillary and Troy. As her dad, Bob was a Navy pilot the family moved across the south from Texas to Florida to Virginia. Jan completed high school at Virginia Beach,HS in Virginia Beach, VA where her husband, Warren Cline, and Jan met. They were married in Bucks County, PA on August 7, 1965.  Jan and Warren had two sons; Shane Meredith Cline of Charleston, Ill and Devin Christian Cline of Columbus, Ohio. Shane and his wife, Jodi Heistand Cline in turn had three children (grandchildren of Jan and Warren) : Michaela Erbstroesser of Raleigh, NC,  Linnea Brown of Savannah, GA and Grant Cline of Chicago, IL.

Jan began college at Findlay College in Findlay, Ohio, ultimately attaining a BS in Business at Bowling Greeen State University in Ohio. Jan and Warren moved often across the country before settling and retiring in Huntsville, Al in 1995.

Jan was an avid birdwatcher, gardener, Life Master Bridge Player at the Huntsville Bridge Club and reader. Jan possessed a potent sense of humor and her lilting laugh could be heard rooms away.

Jan and Warren moved to an active retirement community, Magnolia Trace, in Huntsville where they have enjoyed six and a half years. Jan served as Chairperson of the Magnolia Trace Book Club for several years.

Jan passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2024 and will be sorely missed by many.

No services are planned.  Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
