Janice Rhodes Wallace, age 78, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016. Visitation will be today, Sept. 30th, from noon until 2 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Mike McKnight and Dwight Castle officiating. Burial will be at Walston Cemetery in Oakland. Pallbearers are Chuck Vaughan, Johnny Devaney, Dwight Castle, Sonny Summerhill, W.L. Lindsey, and Don Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers are J.W. Simmons and Terry Rhodes.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Sonny Pruitt and Sandy Paul Wallace; parents, Jesse and Sovelia Hill Rhodes; maternal grandmother, Liddie Hill; uncle, Clarence Hill; brother, Billy Don Rhodes; sisters, Jean Mitchell and Ann White.
Survivors are her son, Mark Pruitt; daughter, Paula Wallace Whittle; granddaughter, Stephanie Pruitt Castle (Dwight); great-grandson, Morris Allen “Mac” Castle, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Janice was of the Baptist faith. She had many interests, including Elvis, Alabama football, NASCAR, vegetable gardening, and growing flowers. Her greatest loves were Jesus, Mark, Paula, Stephanie, Dwight and Mac.
