Janice McCollum Couch, beloved wife and mother went to her Heavenly reward. April 22, 2024, Janice was a graduate of West Morgan High School class of ‘73 and the University of Alabama class of ‘77. With a degree in Microbiology. She loved Jesus, her family, the Crimson Tide and good ole time Gospel Music. She lived a life of service in the name of her Lord Jesus Christ. Her life of service found her serving as a Med Tech at Parkway Medical center for 6 years in the early years after college. She helped to serve 50 plus years of customers at McCollum’s Catfish and Seafood, a Decatur institution. She eventually became co-owner. Finally she became a caregiver, providing tender and loving care to numerous elderly and Alzheimer’s patients across North Alabama employed by Alabama Home Care Specialist until cancer made service impossible. She is preceded in death by her parents Allen and Marie McCollum and her brother Cregg McCollum.
She is survived by her adoring husband Alan Couch and her beloved children Jason and Martha Couch, sister Carolyn Hathaway, Nephew Chris McCollum (Starr) great nephew Cale and Ella, brother in law Mike Couch( Kim) nephew Zack, and numerous loving cousins, including Traci Carrol and Deb Roberts.
