Janice Lindsey ChastainA Celebration of Life honoring Janice Lindsey Chastain will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at
12pm, at Jenifer Baptist Church, Oxford, Alabama. Pastor George Golden will officiate the service with
music by Rhiannon Nunnally and Chance Nunnally.

Janice entered the gates of heaven in the early morning hours of December 6, 2023, peacefully
surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her children, John (Janna) Chastain, Christina (J.B.) Glass; grandchildren, Kayte Boyd,
Clay (Autumn) Boyd, Darren (Regan) Ledbetter, Justin Smith, Matt (Emily) Glass; great-grandchildren,
Kennedy and Dyer Boyd, Brooks Ledbetter; siblings Deborah (Donald) Cargal, James (Angie) Lindsey, Bill
(Shannon) Lindsey; several nieces and nephews; two very special little girls, Callie and Chesleigh
Nunnally.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Martha Lindsey, and her brother, Gerry Lindsey.
Janice, the oldest sibling, was born on July 26, 1950, to Ralph and Martha Lindsey and spent most of her
life in Oxford, Alabama. She took pleasure in the simple things life held; horehound candy, country line
dancing, coffee, yogurt and listening to the laughter of her family. She was a member of the Oxford High
School c/o 1968 and Oxford Community Choir. Janice retired from the Boys & Girls Club of East Central Alabama after 21 years where she felt blessed to be a part of an organization that positively impacted the youth in her community. She had many talents including playing piano, singing, sewing, and was a master in the art of crocheting. Many of her beautiful creations can be found in the homes of her family and friends and will be a reminder of her gentle spirit and giving heart. Janice was an avid fan of
whatever team her grandson, Darren, played on and was known to occasionally offer an enthusiastic
Roll Tide. Janice was a loving mother, Granny, sister, aunt, and friend and lived a life filled with
unconditional love that she shared abundantly. Ms. Chastain’s memory will live forever in the hearts and
homes of all who knew her.

The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at Bruno Cancer Center, Enhabit Home Health and
Hospice, nurse Kristin Rivers, Cremation Services of East Alabama along with all others who provided so
much love and support during the last several months.

The family would like for everyone to wear Ms. Chastain’s favorite color blue to the service.

A visitation and reception will be held immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Central Alabama.
